When the only thing you need is some pure acoustic songwriting, SYML has you covered. You may have recently come across the Seattle-based musician’s single ‘The Bird’, and this next track is an equally refined moment to take stock. ‘Where’s My Love’ is easily a fan favourite, racking up tens of thousands of listens online, and today we have the perfect excuse to return to this beautifully sombre song thanks to a new accompanying video. Through the camera lens, we follow a solitary character as she undresses while walking through golden fields, luscious woodland, and finally out to a secluded lake, into which she walks and subsequently disappears beneath the waterline. Directed by Gavin Michael Booth, the video will leave you with a knot in your stomach, and credit must go to actress Tanya Bevan for her convincing performance. The whole scene is highly compelling and is much aided by SYML’s reflective vocal and cinematic guitar. ‘Where’s My Love’ is bound to be a stand-out track on the songwriter’s forthcoming self-titled album out on May 3rd. - Hannah Thacker
